Autolaunch of smax4pnp.exe disabled on Vista lab systems

The smax4pnp.exe program, a component of the SoundMax audio software, is configured to auto launch following logon on Sites Vista systems. The program is intended to detect connection of microphones, speakers, and headphones to the SoundMax audio hardware. On many systems, the smax4pnp.exe program crashes immediately after launch and generates an error message.

To suppress the crash and error message, auto launch of program has been suppressed by removal of a registry entry from the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run key. The removal of the entry is implemented via the ccs-'08-'09-Disable-Smax-autolaunch GPO. The GPO is scoped to affect all Vista lab systems that have the SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio hardware.
